AL.OR was born from the dream of Francesco Orso, who we can call the father of our company. Skipper of Gianni Agnelli’s historic sailing yacht “Agneta” and with a deep passion for the sea, having reached the Port of Santo Stefano, Orso decided to settle down for the sake of his wife, and, with his brother-in-law, Fabio Alocci, decided to start a new adventure. So, in 1989, AL.OR was born, a name derived from the initials of the two founders.
The focus of the business was the purchase and sale of boats, but also storage and mooring. The company’s growth soon boomed, thanks also to relationships with public figures and important agreements with companies such as Nautica Casarola, Riva’s only dealer for Italy, and the acquisition of other prestigious brands such as Apreamare and Itama.
After the sad death of its founder, it was Francesca who took the reins of the company together with her uncle, adding a service that gave a further push forward, expanding the business into the foreign market: rental.
